Wrapping Up Recruitment Season: Welcoming Our New Board

On Monday the 23rd of March, we officially concluded this semester’s leader recruitment period by voting in our new board. After weeks of promoting, interviewing and nominating leaders, it felt extremely good to announce that we have Team 27's leaders.
A Busy and Inspiring Recruitment Period
This year’s recruitment period has been one of our most active yet. Throughout the week, we hosted stands every single day across the campuses, giving students the opportunity to meet current members and leaders, learn more about what we do, and get a feel for the Ascend community.
In addition to our physical presence on campus, we brought Ascend closer to students through daily Instagram takeovers. Our leaders shared glimpses into their roles, experiences, and day-to-day involvement, and a day in their life as both students and technical leaders. We loved the engagement we got through their take-overs and videos.
Celebrating Through AscendHER
One of the highlights of the recruitment period was AscendHER. An event aimed at women to show them other women in tech. It was an evening filled with rebus, presentations, pizza, quiz and conversations. It was an amazing opportunity for us to show other women what we do and accomplish as women in technical organisations.



Recruiting the new group leaders
After the interview-period we have had the pleasure of appointing our new group leaders. We received many strong applications, which made the process both competitive and rewarding.
The selected group leaders bring a solid mix of perspectives, and will be responsible for leading their respective groups throughout the next year. They play an important role in both the technical and social aspects of Ascend, and in shaping the experience for Team 27.
