From Trondheim to Kongsberg: two inspiring meetings with our main partner, filled with collaboration, innovation, and future possibilities.
Back in October we had the pleasure of welcoming our main partner, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, to our office here in Trondheim. Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace is Norway’s leading company in defence and aerospace, developing cutting-edge technology for everything from space exploration to advanced security systems. Their continued support plays a key role in making our work at Ascend possible.

The visit was filled with inspiration, learning, and great conversations. We started the day with a tour of our office, where we introduced the KDA representatives to our team and showcased our workspace and current projects. Each group gave a short presentation about their ongoing work and developments within our startup projects.

After the tour, we gathered for a session of presentations. Our team shared highlights from the past year, including our experiences from this year’s IARC Mission 10 competition, reflections on the new rule changes, and some of our preparations for the next shot at IARC Mission 10. Then Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace were giving us insight into their latest innovations, technology, and career opportunities within the company.
The day ended with an evening event together with Orbit NTNU. It was a networking session with pizza, discussions, and plenty of opportunities to connect. The informal setting made for some great conversations about technology, innovation, and future collaborations.
A huge thank you to Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace for taking the time to visit us, share their knowledge, and continue supporting the next generation of engineers and innovators.
Technology Seminar
Earlier this week, the board had the pleasure of attending a Technology Seminar for 10th graders in Kongsberg, hosted by our main partner, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The seminar was opened by Kongsberg’s first employed humanoid, Pepper. After a short introduction, Pepper decided to kick things off with a dance.

Following that, HR representatives from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace talked about the various opportunities within the company, featuring interviews with apprentices and recently employed students.
After a short break, it was time for the student projects to take the stage. The session started with Revolve NTNU, followed by USN Horizon, and we had the honor of ending the seminar.

We used the opportunity to talk about Ascend and what we do, but most of our time was spent discussing what it’s like to be a student: the big lecture halls, the freedom and responsibility of creating your own schedule, and of course, life outside of studies. Student life isn’t all about lectures and exams, so we made sure to highlight the many exciting opportunities available beyond the university.

We are proud and grateful to have Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace as our main partner, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together as we keep pushing innovation forward.
